Lotus unveils 260bhp matte-black Exige Scura limited edition 
ahead of its Tokyo debut
Lotus is one of the few international manufacturers supporting the Tokyo Motor Show. So to mark the occasion it's treating showgoers in Japan to the most deadly version of the Exige ever.
Called the Scuro, Italian for 'dark', the special edition combines exotic materials with a powerful 260bhp 1.8-litre supercharged Toyota engine, to devastating effect. Extensive use of carbon fibre for the seats, centre console and aerodymanic bodykit have stripped 10kg from the kerbweight - meaning the Scuro tips the scales at a flyweight 925kg.
Performance is just as shattering as the stealth-like matte-black paintwork and black lightweight forged alloys suggest. The sprint from 0-60mph is covered in a frantic 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 152mph. And thanks to adjustable traction controi and dampers the Exige can be tailored to the driver's skill level or conditions.
